Reggie’s Sleepout
Reggie’s Sleepout is a yearly event in Des Moines that takes place at the Drake University Stadium to raise awareness about youth homelessness Iowa.
This will be the 4th year I’ve gone to take pictures. It’s great seeing how the event changes over the years and the different buildings people make each time.
Tonight Brad Whipple, Iowa Homeless Youth Center Director, is sleeping under the marquee at the Knapp Center at Drake. I stopped by to take a few pictures to get ready for the main event on Saturday.
We did some outdoor shots at Gray’s Lake and Des Moines Waterworks park which are great this time of year.
After that we heading to downtown Des Moines to take some more shots. I wanted to get a more interesting background so we headed to the top of a parking garage to get the skyline in the background.
I’ve known Erik and Lindsey forever and even remember when they starting dating. So it was amazing to be able to photograph their engagement photos this past weekend.
We started in Sherman Hill, headed out to Des Moines Waterworks park, Gray’s Lake and ended downtown. We got a lot of great shots and I can’t wait to post them all.
